What it actually does
Not a calendar with more features, and not a chore chart. It sits upstream of the calendar you already use and feeds it.
School emails, appointments, bills, club confirmations. The dates and tasks come out and land on the shared calendar and list, on the paid plans.
Familypedia keeps the policy number, the school reference, the dentist. Either parent asks from WhatsApp, so nobody is the only one who knows.
Watchers surface the school break weeks before clubs fill, the prep an event needs, and ideas for a weekend nobody had time to plan.
The thing underneath it
It is the thinking, not the doing. Noticing the shoes have been outgrown, knowing the form is due Friday, remembering which child stopped eating eggs. The tasks are visible and get shared out. The noticing, the tracking and the remembering usually sit with one person, and they do not show up on any list.
That is why redistributing chores rarely fixes it. If one person still has to notice the job, assign it and check it happened, the doing moved and the managing did not. A shared system only helps if it takes on some of the noticing itself.

Hermo is not an email client and does not replace Gmail. It never sends, replies to or deletes anything in your inbox. It is not a family calendar in its own right: it fills the Google Calendar you already use rather than asking you to switch. It does not read your WhatsApp groups, because WhatsApp is how you talk to Hermo, not something it listens to. It does not book, pay or place orders, and it does not work out who in the house is doing more. The dishwasher still needs emptying.
