A class chat is a terrible place to do logistics.

Thirty parents, and every question goes to all of them. Most of the answers were already sitting in everyone’s inbox. Hermo answers yours privately, so the question never has to be asked in the group at all.

Nobody did anything wrong. The chat is just the only place anyone can think to ask.

Being clear about this one

Hermo is not in your group chat.

What it reads

  • Your own school email, on the paid plans, from the senders you pick
  • Things you have told it, which either parent can then ask for
  • The school calendar PDF, if you upload one
  • Anything you forward it. The party invite that only ever appeared in the chat, a photo of a letter, a voice note from the school gate

What it does not

  • Read the class WhatsApp group, or any group
  • Post, reply or answer on your behalf anywhere
  • See what other parents were sent, only what you were

So the one thing that genuinely only lives in the chat, the birthday invite, still gets in. You send it, rather than Hermo taking it.

Ask Hermo instead of asking thirty people.

Free to start, for both of you.
